My Mad Views on Railway Budget

Railway Budget - Nothing to look forward, except for privatization of another Public Organisation. –My view points based on what I heard in Television from 12 to 1 30 pm today – 14th March, 2011

Heard the Budget for an hour and a half. Nothing Special came across as a budget speech innovative except for the move to privatize another Public Sector Undertaking, rather the largest of Public Sector Undertaking in the world for privatization.  Mr. Dinesh Trivedi had proclaimed that Indian Railway had been in dire straits and need to be renovated. When Lalu had left the Railway, it had been on the forefront. But where had Railway lost its foot?

Two aspects which I think need to be reported. Take into stance the rate increase. He had been so diplomatic to put the increase per kilo metre from two paisa to thirty paisa. This time it can be agreed for the simple reason that the rates need to be raised. But an alarm situation has risen in the meanwhile, when he had opined for a body to monitor the tariff of Railway fares. I see something fishy of the Congress Led UPA government in exploiting the common man in the near future.

In his speech, he was trying to put forward a person’s name and his chief of Party until evening of 14th march, 2012, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, who is to be blamed for the poor performance of Railway for the last two years.  It’s ironical that news reports are coming that she is asking Our Mauni Baba – PM- Mr. Manmohan Singh, to move Mr. Dinesh out of his office.

Railway as well as Union Financial Budgets needs to be looked into with a federal mindset. He had urged for security and safety of the Railway passengers and Railway. It’s true from his speech that the implementation of the former Railway Budget has not happened. Most of the surveys which came out were pointed in the last year budget also.

He had raised debate on the formation of Regulatory Authorities in Railway. What for too much of Regulatory Authorities.

There is a Simple solution. Recruit Common man to the Railways. Modernise with Public Participation. Not Public Private Participation. It can be done with the help of Cooperative Societies, thereby encouraging our people to earn a living. This practice if done in India, can help to uplift the economic ability of the common man.

These are my first views about the Railway budget. After properly going through the budget and the annexures, if needed, my views shall be made online later

I like to quote what Mr. Dinesh Trivedi had quoted in the Lok Sabha while presenting the Railway Budget - 2012-13
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high.

Like what he had said India should held its head high in front of other nations not by practising what they practise but by practising those economic behaviour which had made our country to stay stable while across the globe the economic crisis had put its evil hand on the throat of the western economies. Centre needs to take role and need a proper nationalisation in a proper manner.

Thanks to all for patient reading
